WordPress 3.5 has been released, incorporating a number of new features. In most cases we will be upgrading WordPress hosting customer’s sites to this new version over the next few weeks following testing and verifying the effect on any custom plugins that are loaded.

Many of the improvements are “under the hood” improvements and bug fixes that most users and site owners won’t see but all should give improved site performance and stability.

Changes to the authoring/admin environment include a new media manager that should make managing and creating/adding images and other media items much simpler as well as built in gallery functions that, for some users/site owners should replace the existing plugins that are being used to supply those features.
